A NEW PASSENGER EXPERIENCE THROUGH INFORMATION AND SAFETY
The passenger information system from next:urban technologies GmbH is a purely IP-based data and voice communication system for a train or bus. It takes over the information of the passengers and the boarding passengers during a ride. Train-Line Modems enable the full traction capability of several vehicles. In addition to the pure passenger information task, the passenger information system takes on other functions. Information and emergency call stations, video cameras in combination with acoustic irradiation make it possible to react quickly to emergency situations and rased the safety for the passengers.
HUMAN MACHINE INTERFACE
The human-machine interface (touch display) located in the driver’s cab enables the train driver and the train attendants to have all the necessary interactions with the passenger information system. In addition, voice connections can be established between several driver’s cabs (Cap2Cap over the entire traction).
DATA PROCESSOR
The Data Processoris the central component. It controls, steers and monitors all participants in the network and also takes over the necessary train (land) communication. The VirtuoSIS Intercom Server software from Commend is used for voice communication and sound reinforcement.
INDOOR MONITORS
All passenger information is displayed on the interior monitors (pearl string of the route, real-time data, stop request, connection information, etc.). In addition, position-dependent playlists can be played to point out interesting details (POI’s) along the route.
EMERGENCY CALL POINTS AND ROUTING
The barrier-free emergency call points enable the emergency calls that are signaled at all Human-Machine-Interfaces. If emergency calls are not answered within the vehicle, they are automatically forwarded to the control room.
CAMERAS
The train driver has the option of connecting camera images to the HMI at any time. In the event of an emergency call, in addition to the audio connection, the camera image of the reporting emergency call center is shown on the HMI and the video stream is recorded in encrypted form.
INDOOR AND OUTDOOR ANNOUNCEMENTS
The electro-acoustic system enables GPS-based automatic announcements as well as selective, manual announcements by the train driver on the HMI.
FRONT AND SIDE MONITORS
The front and side displays are automatically loaded by the Data Processor according to the selected trip and the current vehicle position. (Over the entire traction).
Modernisation of existing vehicles
Existing vehicles can also be equipped with a modern passenger information system and shine with the operators’ passengers. The operator specific the degree modernization and thus existing system components can be included in the new system.
